The three twin-engine aircraft will be delivered this summer, in advance of the 2011-2012 academic year.
The Diamond DA42-L360, was chosen for our multi-engine fleet, because of its safety, performance and advanced technology, commented Chip Cooper, Delta State University’s Director of Flight Operations. The all-carbon modern airframe and Garmin G1000 avionics suite, combined with the reliability of the counter-rotating Lycoming IO-360 engines, is the perfect package for our multi-engine training program.
We welcome Delta State to the Diamond family. With the incorporation of the DA42-L360 and it’s advanced systems into DSU’s flight program, students will be well prepared for their future careers as professional pilots, said David Moser, Diamond’s Director of Fleet Sales.
The Diamond DA42-L360 is an all carbon fiber, twin-engine aircraft, with counter-rotating Lycoming IO-360 (180hp) power plants, and the Garmin G1000 glass cockpit. The DA42 is the general aviation industry’s safest, most modern light twin-engine aircraft – an ideal airplane for both multi-engine training and personal travel.
